Christmas 2007

This is me and my oldest daughter. What a beautiful young lady she is becoming.
Me and Hubby with 2 youngest daughters.
This is my Mother and Father In-Law, with me and 4 daughters.

AND here is the Cinnamon Bear!
Well, I think our surprise went over fantastic. No one guessed what it was until we got right down on the docks. My mother-in-law couldn't stop thanking us. She loved it. I am so glad.
We had a wonderful Christmas. God is so awesome. I am so BLESSED!

Birthday Dinner Cruise

This photo was taken on my birthday, I turned 36 this year. I forgot to share it with you back when we took the cruise. My husband surprised me with this dinner cruise up the Columbia Gorge, the same route taken in the Mel Gibson Movie "Maverick". It was beautiful, the evening was perfect and my hubby was awesome. I was reminded to share this photo ater my last post. I had forgotten that I didn't share this wonderful evening with you all.!!!!!

Happenings around here

Well, I have been working hard to get the Harvest Corp group their Christmas schedule set up, their outreaches scheduled, and their new teachers lined up for 2008. In Feb. we are bringing in a teacher of Theology, and then we all head off to Kirkland, Wa for an exciting Conference with other groups like ours. The group hosting this is called MAsters' Commission which is our sister group. I am thrilled because I get to go along, and while the students stay at the Church, my home church wants to put me in a hotel for the 3 days there----YES!!!!!!!!!!!

If any of you have not been able to read "The Shack" by William P. Young go get it! What a book, it is an amazing book. And it is set in my local area. It takes place in many of the places I myself have visited. We had the students read this book, and we are bringing in the Auther in the spring. He happens to live just across the river.

On the homefront, my girls have been sick and gotten better on time for school dramas and choirs, they are so beautiful my girls. They have each done a wonderful job on their parts. Hubby and I have gotten all shopping done, wrapped and under the tree. YES!

I am looking forward to Christmas--we have a Christmas Eve River Cruise planned for the girls' and for my In-Laws. In the 40's my mother-in-law grew up listening to the Cinnamon Bear Radio Series. When my hubby took me on a Columbia Gorge River Dinner Cruise for my B-day, they were selling tickets for a Cruise with the Cinnamon Bear. They are re-introducing the story and characters as well as a new book. So I told hubby we had to take his mother on this--so we chose to make it a family gift. It is a surprise to our girls and the grandparents. My mother-in-law broke her hip 1 yr ago, and her shoulder 2 yrs. ago. She hasn'e been the same since, we see her maybe once a month and she has been very depressed, the falls have aged her 2o yrs I think. I hoping this Christmas Cruise will lift her spirits.

Christmas day is always the same---at my house---I make a big breakfast, we open gifts, spend the day together and then make a big Prime Rib for dinner. Dinner time my hubbys' sister and her husband come over as well as his cousin and her 6 kids. My house is full----and I wouldn't have it any other way!

God has been so good to us this year. I feel so blessed at the beautiful life I have! It's not perfect, but it's blessed!

Blessings to you all!

Getting Ready for the Holidays

Here at my house we have spent the last two weekends getting the tree up and lights around the house. It is beautiful.

Though, I live two hours away from Vernonia, the town on the news that was completely flooded this last week-end, the devastation is so real. Here in Vancouver everyone is working hard to get groceries and toiletries to the town, they are also sending local daycare services, as all the schools are closed until January. Everyone there lost Christmas gifts and such so here people are trying to get the local Toys For Tots to expand their services to include trees and gifts for the adults.

I was thinking today as I rose early, making hot chocolate for everyone as they woke, how SO VERY blessed I am, I have never known this kind of devastation, and how would I react if this was my town to be flooded and my kids who lost everything. My mind can't even comprehend this.

Please pray for everyone here. They are saying the rains are headed back in, so the river that overflowed could rise again, these poor people need time to heal.

Blessings everyone, I am so enjoying all of your blogs, even though I can't leave comments to often.

Fall Blessings

This photo was taken in Yreka, California. From our Vacation in July. I love this train, it was a wonderful ride for us all.

Work is going very well. I have met so many people and am having an awesome time with the two ministries I work with. It is also amazing to see God transform so many lives in so many ways.

I have 4 days off in a row, so we began by deep cleaning every room. Getting all the laundry done WOOHOO! I made a big meal for the family and loved it. I also just got the notice that I have Nov.19-23rd off also. So WOOHOO again, I feel so blessed. I have decided to have some fun times with the 4 girls, doing crafts, some cooking and maybe take in a movie.

How are all of you?

I have so enjoyed my time at work, it has been awesome. All the people are great and the church staff and Pastors' are so generous and fun to work with. I have really enjoyed it.
Fall is here and I am loving it, it is so beautiful here. The colors are so vibrant.
Well, I am off to make dinner.

A Lot has changed

So many things have changed, since last post. When hubby and I were at the beach a few weeks back, I eceived a phone call from our head Pastor, asking me if I wanted a part-time position on the Church staff. I was baffled. I was asked to be the Administrator for 2 ministries in our church for the Pastor over these two ministries.
I was so honored, they told me I was their first choice for the position.

I would work from 9 am to 1 pm Tuesdays thru Fridays. Isn't he schedule perfect. So, after 4 days I came in for the interview. Two days later had the interview with the Pastor I would Administrate for, and then found out 4 days later. I was hired.

I am replacing a gal who could no longer do it. If you want to check out the two ministries I get to Administrate, check out my church's web page @
and click on Harvest Corps and CPR.

Anyways all is well, and thank you for wishing me well with the hurt shoulder.

I hope to catch up soon.

Home Again

We are home now, have been for a week. We have been busy getting the girls into school, and hubby and I have been busy at work.
I think I pulled something in my left shoulder while painting a house last week, I have deep ache in my shoulder, it only bothers me at the end of the day when I am reay to settle in for the night.
Fall has started here, our trees are turning colors and our rain is back in the forcast. Our highs are only in the 70's. We really didn't have much of a summer here. But the children were all excited to get into school. So I think they are very happy right now.
Blessings everyone, thank you for your comments.

BEACH--here we come

OH I love the beach!!!!!! My hubby and I take 4 days together (without kids) to go to the beach, we do repairs in the cabin where we stay to earn our stay there. We always go to "The End of The World Cruise" it is the last car show of the year. This would be our 5th time. We love it. We take one of our hot rods, and just enjoy each other. I am really looking forward to it.

This picture was taken at our Churches car show, about a month ago. This is our Mustang, and this was pretty early in the morning.

Blessings to everyone I will be back on next Tuesday.

Disney Princesses

In all fairness I added one for my tomboy daughter. She suffered thru all the Princess stuff, I thought I would add this one for her.

This daughter is the closest I'll ever get to a boy. I was reading Jolene Georges' blog and she talked about not having the chance to do the girlie thing (she has 5 sons, and just welcomed grandson #2) I can relate only I have all the girls, I am just thrilled that my 8 yr old is so into the boy things. And CONGRADULATIONS JOLENE, on the new grandson!!!
Have still been busy with hubby, working, I am so proud of him though, just at how he does his work. I am proud of him solve these different problems and with great patience.
Just finishing a book called The DNA Of Relationships for couples by Greg Smalley and Bob Paul. Very good reading on marriage issues. I like that I get to read on the way to and from jobs, we do alot of driving, and I am so lucky to devour my books.

Well, it is late and I am very tired. More jobs tomorrow. Thank you for the sweet comments you all leave

Working Hard and doing well

Here are more pictures of Disneyland

This is us with Ariel, my youngests favorite character.

Well, still working alot with hubby. We are doing well though. I am just not used to working so much like this, I have lost a dress size WOOOHOO!
The girls' are getting bored with summer. I can't say I blame them, after Disneyland, what else is there. I still have the scrapbooking to do for this vacation....yay!!

Hubby brought me home a box of peaches, my favorite, so I made two cobblers, and now I want to make jam.

Man, I miss all of your blogs, I do stop by when I can, I just can't leave a message all the time. But, I am still trying to catch up.

Gotta run.

Our cat has gone to heaven

Remember this picture I posted maybe a couple of months ago, well our cat Cadillac Momma has past away, she was hit by a car.

My poor girls' took it very hard. We are okay now, it happened a few weeks ago.

I apologize I haven't been better about posting. My Father-in-law isn't working for us anymore, so after hubby and I talked about it, we decided instead of hiring someone, I would be his helper. I am so sore, but It really gives me a better sense of how hard my hubby works.

I work about 3 days a week with him, clean the house and laundy the other 2 days, and now work with a ministry in our church. I am learning alot, I have laid tile, painted a house, pressure washed a deck, and restaining it. Whew!!!
Thank you, to those who visit and leave comments. I appreciate it.

CHRIS----leave me your blog address, i can't find it, i miss you!

Motorhome Cleaned out

Here are some pictures from our trip. I love this one of me and hubby. We had such a wonderful time. I had looked forward to this trip for several years.

The first picture was from knott's Berry farm. That was our first day in Los Angeles. The rest of the photos are from our "Minnie & friends" breakfast. This was included in our package. It wa soooo cute, there was us and only 3 other families and we were able to have breakfast with several of the characters. Minnie Mouse is my favorite. So you could imagine how happy i was to get this photo wither her and my girls!!! I will share more pictures over the next week.

I finally got all the bedding laundered and put away from the motorhome, I also got the clothes all done, and cleaned out the motorhome. Big job. But, ITS DONE!

Anyways, gotta get to making my menu for the week.

We are home! We arrived on Sunday afternoon, it was amazing---hot--but amazing.
Here is our family photo from Disneyland. I love this picture. We got over 700 pictures. I can't decided what one is my favorite. But, I'll post more as I get caught up with all the laundry and stuff.
Thanks for the well-wishes. We had a wonderful time.

Tuesday, June 19, 2007

Oh we are so excited! We leave early Thursday. I have been finishing ALL laundry, cleaning every floor, bleaching toilets, etc.
We loaded the Motorhome, we got all the clothes packed, the food cabinets and fridge done -----YES! So today, hubby and I are doing last minute errands, and banking, tomorrow, we are taking the girls to see their grandparents here, they won't get to see them for 18 days. My father-in-law wants to make us a big waffle dinner and grandma has goody bags for the girls to take on their trip. How fun.
So, I want to thank everyone for their sweet wishes and prayers--can't wait to get back and share all the photos.
Blessings to everyone!!!

7 more days

7 days until we leave for vacation. Oh, i am getting so excited.
I have been a little distracted though, first I have still been working with hubby, we are done with that now, but now I am taking care of two children who were our neighbors.
please pray for Ashley and Skylar, they are 10 and 8. We got a call a few weeks ago from their mother. They had been evicted from their home, and they had a restraining order against their father.
From what i have gathered, dad has been dishonest thus far with family finances, has neglected to pay rent since January, has been taking the kids' lunch money, has been borrowing money from family-----all to support a drug habit. We sold him our old Suburban, to this date he has only made 4 payments and still owes us $800. He kept telling us it was because he was laid off, and couldn't make the payment.
Long story short, mom finally confronted dad on what his problem was, (she thought he was seeing someone else) she had the 2 kids in her jeep and he got angry and pinned her against her car--only he was in the suburban. She asked him to leave so he attacked her from his vehicle. Broke out her windows, and scared his kids almost to death.
She left him immediatly and she has their kids, luckily a friend of ours found her a house to rent, and their father is now living out of the suburban in a family members back yard.
Mom works at the hospital, she works 3--12 hour shifts a week, she can't afford child care, and I am the only one she knows who is a stay-at-home mom who can get the kids on and off the bus.
As you can imagine these two kids have alot of confusion and are now beginning to act it out. The daughter seems to be okay but the 8 yr old boy, oh my. And of coarse, I am not used to biys, so he is an eye opener. But he responds well to me, and my heart really goes out to these kids and their parents.
So, ladies I am asking you, if you could, please say a prayer for them.
Well, time to get my morning started and get a yummy breakfast cooking.

Friday, June 1, 2007

Oh, I just had to add this picture. This is my cat, Cadillac Momma, and the quilt she is on was made my Great-Grandmother in the 1960's. It was given to me this past year when she past away.I keep it over my 1800's Paror Sofa in my Masterbedroom. I LOVE IT, and so does the
cat, I can always find her on the quilt.

Disney Autograph books

Aren't they cute. I fretted over these, and coulnd't decide how to make them. I didn't want to put to much into them because I want to take them apart and put them into each girls' scrapbooks. I am very pleased with them, the girls like them.
I have spent the week gathering and doing ALL laundry, pulling out summer clothes and seeing if they are still fitting everyone, trying to get ready for our trip. I have also been trying to get schooling stuff taken care of. School gets out so late here. The kids official last day is June 22. My girls whine because all of their cousins in Arizona got out a week ago.
Blessings everyone!!!!

Only 4 weeks left! YAHOO!!!!!!!

Well, I apologize for not blogging, wow, I didn't realize it had been this long. I spent the whole week before Memorial Day helping dear hubby get his construction jobs done. Also, we decided to go to the beach for the Holiday week-end. So, after working with him, we packed for our trip. It was a long week before, but then we left Thursday and it was glorious. The days were beautiful and it wasn't crowded. We always go to Long Beach, Wa. it tends to be more family friendly.

HEATHER, no we are not in Disneyland yet. I will let you know when, I can't wait. I am looking forward to these next 4 weeks of making lists, packing, making lists, shopping, going over the yet again new list, getting the motorhome ready. I am so excited.

Well, today I got all the laundry from the vacation washed and folded, not yet put away. But in time. I am very happy though, usually we come back from a trip like this, and it takes me a week to get the Suburban cleaned out, cleaning out the food bins, and getting the clothes bins done, but, my SWEET husband stayed by my side yesturday and helped me unload it all. What an amazing feeling. And what a tremendous blessing from my man!!!

Okay, now I have to get over to all your blogs and try to catch up.

Blessings to you all!

The Mickey head below somehow made itself a post of its own.

What I meant to say under the first post today was that I made DISNEY autograph books for the girls.

No, this is not the spider that bitt my daughter. But, she did get a bite, and she had a horrible reaction to the bite. She had this visitor last friday evening. She told me about it
I thought it was just a mosquito bite, so i did pay much attention to it. But, then it kept getting bigger and she finally said she couldn't deal with it anymore. We ended up in the Urgent Care and waited for 2 hours. Confirming my thoughts that she had a reaction.
Now, me personally, I love spiders, I am in awe of the beautiful webs they spin. They are very fascinating to me. And coming from Arizona, I have seen my share of scarey spiders, Jolene knows what I am talking about. So the Northwest spiders do not scare me at all. My family is scared to death of spiders. I understand.
Well, got all 4 of the girls' autograph books finished. If I had my camera, I would show the pictures of them. But, hubby is out of town and has my camera. They turned out so cute. I am proud of the books, if I may boast for a moment. Kay the moment is up.
Well, I have laundry to do, and a pot-roast to get into the oven. Blessings everyone!

I had a beautiful Mothers' Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers' Day. I did. We went to a town 2 hours away from us, to a small small town called Glenwood. We always tease that only 8 people live there.
We had a family reunion for my Father-In-Laws sie of the family. His two sisters and there families. We have the youngest kids so it was alot of fun to see all the older children mingle with mine.
My F-I-L youngest sister who is about 69, her husband is a cancer survivor. They together had 4 children. 3 girls and 1 boy. They lost their oldest daughter to cancer when she was in her late 30's. And the other two daughters are cancer survivors. And now, the oldest granddaughter herself is now battling cancer(her mother is the one who past away) So, this family is amazing to me, just the love and encouragement they give to all the see and know. I am always blessed by this family. We get together with this group every mothers day. So for me, I always go away with a lesson on this day, of how precious life and family are.

I must make a confession to you all, the reason we did so well in our garage sale is because we own a contruction business and we sold extra materials we don't use. we sold doors, windows, sheet rock, etc. And I had kids clothes, dishes, books, homeschool stuff, so I believe our greatest seller was the materials.

I just want to thank everyone for their sweet comments and wishes for me and my family. You are all such an amazing group of women. I am honored to get to know you all!

I must go, today we get another 80' day, gotta get summer like things done, because rain is back in the forcast for the rest of my week.
Blessings to you all!

Allergies, chores and a garage sale

Okay, i see I have had a hard time blogging. I did have two girls with head colds, and then I got it, oh the allergy pressure in the head is no fun. But, the upside of all of this is....we are finally having spring weather. And, in the middle of my head thing I decided to do weeding in the yard, I paid for that for a couple more days.

We have 49 days until we leave for our Disney Trip. We decided to have a garage sale to pay for the gas we will use for the trip. Gas here is $3.30 a gallon here, I think it has become a sin.
We did make $500 though, and I will have the garage sale again this week-end.

And the chores, well as I was cleaning closets out for garage sale stuff, I realized everything needed a good "spring" cleaning. Still working on that one.

Thank you ladies for your sweet wishes. We are all fine now, and getting our week under way.
Oh, I also got my older girls' homeschooling stuff into motion for 07 and 08 school year. Feels good to have that taken care of.

I have been here with two sick girlies. I just wish the sickies would go away.

But----my hubby and I have done very good with our Water Jogging. 3 times this week we worked out. I feel very good.

To answer some questions from you beautiful posters--no, I didn't live here when Mt. St. Helens blew in the 80's. But, in the beginning, I was scared of that Mt. but now I am just thrilled to see her every morning.

Thank you for the wonderful recipes, I am excited, I have jotted all your ideas down, and recipes, I have lists upon lists. Love it.

Trinity Broadcasting Network had a wonderful memorial special for the Virginia Tech victims, I am in tears as CeCe Winans sings

JESUS is the answer for the world today!!!!

I'll leave on that sweet note.

View of a Volcano

This is a view from my back deck. This is Mt. St. Helens. She is beautiful!
And here in the Northwest, when she errupts like this, it is simply called a "burp"
She has been "burping" now for a few years. Also, there is alot of earthquake activity.
My favorite thing, is to wake up first thing, and when the fog blows off, to look out the back door to this beautiful mountain standing tall and majestic.

Anyways, I took the week off in honor of Virginia Tech. We have a daughter to one of the Professors that lives here, as well as a student from here. So, just as I am sure alot of you were it was somber here. Also, I decided to take time to catch up with house work, laundry, and some major spring cleaning. One of the biggest accomplishments was getting my room cleaned up as well as our office space and my Scrapbooking area. Feels good.

Got the motorhome cleaned out, airing out, and taking inventory for our trip to Disneyland and Arizona. OH BY THE WAY-----if any of you wonderful women out there have fast and easy recipes for breakfasts and dinners for our trip, I would so appreciate it. I have a full-service Kitchen in our motorhome, and I need some great ideas for meals, that can be made in a S M A L L kitchen. Thank you
Thank you to all you beautiful women for your posts, I appreciate all of you, and your speaking into my heart. How precious you all are!!

Prayers For Virginia Tech

Today I just want to say that I am praying for the spouses, family, and friends of the 32 victims and for the shooter. What a tragic thing that makes no sense to us. I am in prayer today for this situation. Blessings to you all!

LOooong week-end

First, I want to thank everyone for your special wishes to my family. I am so very blessed, and thank you for sharing in our joy.
For the longest time TOY STORY was my favorite movie. I loved the innocence of the movie----B U T then CARS came out, and I found a new favorite. My whole family loves this Disney/Pixar movie. And my hubby especially loved it, it was finally a part of HIS world. My hubby loves cars, hot rods, car parts, all that stuff. And actually he has so far built 3 hot rods from the ground up. So, this movie is our "family movie"
And speaking of cars. This past week-end was the Portland Auto SwapMeet. We were there from Thursday till last night. We rent a spot, hubby sells car parts, tires and barters with other men on things I have no clue they are talking about. But it makes me love him even more because his eyes sparkle, twinkle and smile like a little boy with a new toy. My body is so sore. My back and calves ache, because you walk constantly. It is a very large swap meet, people from out of state come here with their own booths for this. But, I am happy, while we sat at the booth for my husband to make "deals" I got to catch up reading my latest Better Homes and Gardens magazine and my newest Creating Keepsakes magazine. Read both from front to back.
And now, because I was gone for 4 days, I have so much to catch up on. So I must get to work.
Blessings to you all!

My hubby and I looked over the budget

and this is the year. Actually, for the last 2 yrs I have been begging my hubby to go. I really wanted both sets of our parents to go & just have a big family vacation. Both sets of parents and us haven't been able to afford it, but we found we are doing quite well, after paying off the credit cards. Hubby said we could go if we could pay cash for it all. So we started budgeting and here we are. BUT--hubbies parents are in their 70's and chose not to go with us. They just don't feel they can do it. AND---they gave us a big amount of money to go towards our trip. Praise God--what a blessing. So with this we were able to book the whole vacation and pay cash. We will be there for 6 days. 3 for disneyland and 1 for Knotts Berry Farm, 1 for Universal Studios. My parents are still joining us. Yippeeeee! We have never had a vacation with my parents. So you can imagine how very excited that I am. I just want to squill all the time.
And there's more---I hail from Arizona. And just about all of my family lives there, SO I was able to talk hubby into going to my hometown for 5 days Y--E---S! I have several aunts and uncles and cousins who have never met my girls. I have been back there for funerals but the girls have never been there. We will be there over hte 4th of July Holiday, so my parents are going to have a huge Bar-B-Que in honor of us.
Anyways, as soon as hubby booked the hotel and tickets and we coordinated with my parents======I knew it was set in stone and now I can share it with you all. I am so very excited for my girls, a 2 week vacation at the end of June and to my 2 favorite places in the world. It is gonna be our SUMMER!
Blessings to you all

Is it the end of the week already!

Okay, the kitty thing is a little overkill! But, I couldn't figure out how to stop it from repeating.

For those who asked, my dog in the shower is half chow chow & half rottweiler! He is the sweetest guy ever. And Heather, it was only in the 60's here. But, our dog gets so hot, I think maybe it is a nerveous thing too. We had alot of people here!

Okay, I also have had a LOVE/HATE relationship with our black rooster. He attacked me last Thursday. He got me in 3 places. I mean he punctured me in 3 places, they knotted up underneath the wounds. And they hurt horribly. The healing process has been long. One of the wounds is under my knee, one on the side and one on my outer thigh. Putting weight on them has been aweful. It has really worn me out, so i am lagging so much. Though, my laundry is caught up, and my kitchen is clean.

I have done the swimming classes with my hubby, it has been very relaxing. The personal struggle to get up at 6 to go work out has been stupid. I can pop out of bed at 6 every morning to get hubby ready for work, and girls fed and ready, no problem!!!!!!!!!! But to get up those two days to work out, what a struggle.

Okay now that I have bored you all. Many blessings to you all!
